Delete Your Illumined Account

Illumined allows every signed-in user to permanently delete their account and associated personal data directly in the mobile app.

How to delete your account

1. Open Illumined and sign in to the account you want to delete.
2. Open More, then select Account.
3. Under Delete Account, select Delete My Account.
4. Enter your password and select Delete Permanently to confirm.

Data that is deleted

After confirmation, Illumined deletes the account and personal data from its active systems, including:

• Your sign-in account and profile information.
• Lesson, quiz, assignment, achievement, and prayer progress associated with your profile.
• Your chat messages, discussion posts and replies, assignment participation, and prayer requests.
• Notification registration information stored with your profile.

Data that may be retained

Class-wide materials created by an instructor—such as assignments, schedules, announcements, and discussion prompts—may remain available to the class after the instructor deletes the account. Illumined removes the deleted instructor’s identity from those shared records. Illumined does not intentionally retain the deleted user’s personal account data in active systems. Limited security logs or encrypted service backups may remain temporarily under Firebase’s standard retention processes or where required by law.

If you cannot access your account

If you cannot sign in, first use the password-reset option on the Illumined sign-in screen. After resetting your password, sign in and follow the deletion steps above. Your parish instructor cannot delete the account for you or view your password.
